Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) Overview

The Diploma in Pharmacy is a two-year program comprising four semesters, offering an in-depth understanding of pharmaceutical sciences. The curriculum covers essential subjects such as Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, and Clinical Pharmacy.
  1. Pharmaceutical Chemistry:

    • In-depth study of the chemical properties and synthesis of pharmaceutical compounds.
    • Understanding the principles of drug design and structure-activity relationships.
  2. Pharmacology:

    • Exploration of the effects of drugs on the human body and major organ systems.
    • Practical training in conducting in-vitro and in-vivo experiments.
  3. Pharmaceutics:

    • Learning the formulation and development of various dosage forms.
    • Practical knowledge of analytical techniques used in drug discovery.
  4. Pharmacognosy:

    • Study of natural products used in medicine, including plant and animal-based sources.
    • Identification and extraction of active constituents from medicinal plants.
  5. Clinical Pharmacy:

    • Application of pharmaceutical knowledge in patient care.
    • Understanding drug interactions, adverse drug reactions, and therapeutic drug monitoring.

Eligibility Criteria

 

D.Pharma – 2 Years

Candidates applying for D.Pharm should have completed 10+2 in the Science stream with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Admission is based on merit, and some institutes may conduct entrance exams.
